Gear Up for Glory: High-Performance Racing Suits Built for Speed and Safety

When you are pedal to the metal on the race track, you don't have time to be distracted. This is why we offer comfortable high-performance racing suits with one goal in mind: keeping you safe behind the wheel.

Safety is Paramount

The racing suits that we carry are constructed using top-of-the-line fire-resistant materials, which creates a barrier between you and potential hazards. Whether you’re caught in an engine fire or a fuel leak, our race car suits give you valuable seconds to escape danger.

Lightweight and Built to Move:

At Club Racers Garage, we believe safety and performance go hand in hand.  No bulky or restrictive gear—just pure focus and control as you push your limits on the track.

SFI Certification: Your Assurance of Safety on the Track

When it comes to racing suits, the SFI certification is a true badge of honor. It shows that a race suit has undergone rigorous testing and meets strict safety standards set by the SFI Foundation, Inc.—guaranteed protection when it matters most.

Why SFI Certification Matters:

Racing is inherently risky, and fire hazards are a reality. Fuel leaks and engine malfunctions can quickly escalate into life-threatening situations. An SFI-certified car racing suit acts as your shield, providing a critical barrier against flames and heat and giving you precious time to escape harm's way.

Choosing the Right Level of Protection:

We offer racing suits with both SFI 3.2A/1 and SFI 3.2A/5 certifications, catering to different levels of racing and risk:

SFI 3.2A/1: Perfect for those participating in lower-risk events in a mechanic-inspected street car or those who prefer wearing a layer of fire retardant underwear underneath their outfit.

SFI 3.2A/5: Designed for professional racers and high-risk racing categories, featuring advanced multi-layer construction for superior thermal protection and flame resistance. We always recommend a higher rating than lower when it comes to safety gear - you never want to be in a position to need it, but if you ever are, you'll be happy you went with the higher-rated and safer gear.

FAQs

1. Why do I need a racing suit?

If you’re racing wheel-to-wheel (or running TT, depending on the organization), you don’t have a choice - they require it.

If you’re doing HPDE, although it’s not usually a requirement, it’s always better to be safe than sorry. Racing suits are purpose-built to keep you safe in the event of a fire and can quite literally be a life saver.

2. What features should I look for in a racing suit?

When selecting a racing suit, keep its fire-resistance rating in mind - the higher the number, the better. A single-layer suit (lower rating) has less fire protection than a multi-layer suit (higher rating) and most racing organizations require you to also have fire retardant underwear if you do end up buying a single-layer suit, so, beware of that added cost - you aren’t necessarily saving money by going with the cheapest option here!

Also keep in mind the amount of ventilation panels and stretch panels for mobility. A stretchy suit is almost always a more comfortable suit.

3. How do I choose the right size racing suit?

As with anything, the manufacturer’s sizing chart is the best place to really, truly understand the best fit.

4. Do racing suits expire?

Even though racing suits don’t have a firm, specified expiration date, they do degrade over time as with any article of clothing. Wear, tear, exposure to heat and the elements can all have an impact on the lifespan of your racing suit. If you’ve been in a crash, it’s paramount that you inspect it for any tears or degradation which can impact its ability to keep you safe.

5. How should I care for my racing suit?

Always follow the manufacturer’s care instructions - although they rarely differ from one brand to another, they know best. Typically, washing it by hand in mild detergent on a low setting without any other items (especially any with zippers or clasps!) and air drying it thoroughly will do you well. Avoid storing your racing suit in direct sunlight, an area that regularly sees harsh chemicals (so, probably not the garage/shop) or an area that gets excessive heat.
